"4 Ways," a superhero game...

Okay, going to do it as 4-colour superhero world, in a modern setting.

Meaning?

Well, the premise of 4 colour comics is that good is good and bad is bad. Very little ambiguity (that'll change, natch) and very little killing. I'll bend the latter, a little, but all pcs are superheroes, and the good guys and as such they never kill.

Now, as far as comic book universres go, I'll allow ANYTHING, with a few minor caveats:

- Magic is NPC only, and not common. This applies to supernatural creatures as well.
- Superscience doesn't exist. What gadgetry etc. does exist works only for the maker and no one else, and not always well.
- Not everyone with powers becomes a super hero (or villain). This is more reality based than four colour, but I want to keep the game within reality as much as possible that way.

More will be added. Need to dash to work.

  1. Ok, since you wanted comments, here's some:

--I still liked the alien idea more.

--So, since ah... magic and supernatural creatures are "NPC only" and "uncommon" can we still have powers that appear magical, or have powers that mae us like a supernatural creature wihtout either example actually being magical/supernatural?

--"Never kill" would more accurately be "Never kill, except by accident, or if its some uber badguy that they *have* to kill in order to save anyone, and then they feel horrible about it afterward and contemplate quitting being a superhero." At least, that's my understanding.

  2. 1) Yeah, but it's less superhumanish. And on the whole too easy. it can be done as a PC idea for the other game, easily.

    2) Of course. Many superheroes get powers from magical sources. But actually making a vampire or werewolf would be, well, boring, and overdone. Magic'd only be really powerful for the sell your soul to X types and otherwise mostly suck. Plus it takes a long time to do, and has more in common with UA or Call of Cthulhu than Dr. Strange.

    3) Wlel, yeah. Accident generally means one quits, the other option should be rather rare. (I can't think of many examples from comics offhand, except when the protectors (I think it was) blew up Pittsburgh in Malibu comics.)

  4. Well, I need to make a site for it, and a setting, and end up with a time for it (the latter will be the hardest part, I suspect :)).

I'd *like* to run it quite often, just because my GMing style works best that way, but will see what happens. The setting itself is morre going to be collaborative, I hope. Going to put up some forum for it, somewhere, and let people throw things out.
